DVDpedia "View Links" dismiss bug

Yosemite 10.10.1 (14B25) DVDpedia 5.3.2 Previous versions of DVDpedia allowed me to quick-view links by using cmd+L to view the link and again cmd+L to dismiss it and return to the list view. Now pressing cmd+L works fine, but pressing again to dismiss the link leaves the detail view up, covering th...

Hang on mulit-edit

Hello, The more recent DVDpedias hang if I attempt to do any multi-editing, in any field. The application will lockup, and the only option is to force-quit DVDpedia. Reverting back to 5.1.6 restores the expected functionality. I have attempted to replicate this with a brand new database with some si...

Re: Comma separated paste into Credits tab

Hello,

Not sure how I missed this, but any actor name imported via text import with a comma preceding it will correctly create it's own new entry in the credits tab, but the Credit Name will end up with a single whitespace character before it.

Thanks Conor,

I just wanted to report that I have tested this and can verify that it works. My hat is off to you and your speedy fingers!

Comma separated paste into Credits tab

Hello, As always, thank you for the pedias. FYI - I am running 5.1.0 beta 29 Recently I noticed that if I paste in a comma separated list of actor names into a credit field in the "Add Edit Panel", DVDpedia auto creates multiple entries. Nice! So nice, I tried to do this same thing during ...

Complex Queries

Hello Nora and Conor, Thanks as always for the pedias. I would love it if we could build more complex data searches to mine our databases with more flexibility and power. I know from a previous request that exposing direct SQLite queries is non-trival so I am just encouraging Bruji to consider some ...

Re: Random Movie Button

Oh, and yes, I know about and use the "Select Random" Movie menu item and it's corresponding key press. A button just feels like a nice compliment to me.

Scott

Random Movie Button

Hello,

I've requested this before, but wanted to re-fresh this as it has been a number of years. If possible, please consider adding a "Select Random" toolbar button.

Thanks!

Re: Changing the Delimiter when dumping the database

Sorry, I have no experience with that, I just perform those commands manually inside sqlite3. However, the internet seems to indicate that what you are looking for is possible. It will just take a little work for you to figure it all out. http://snippets.dzone.com/posts/show/3080 http://stackoverflo...

Re: Changing the Delimiter when dumping the database

Sure, you can specify a delimiter with the .separator declaration in sqlite. You can also do the following to export as tab separated (which I find to be a more robust output format when doing further text processing): .mode tab .output zentry.txt .header on select * from zentry .exit More reference...

Feature Request: add custom number field

Hello Nora and Conor, Thanks as always for the pedias! Through some fancy shell scripting I have found a way to push Width x Height pixel info into a csv import into DVDpedia, but there is no way for me to then use this info in DVDpedia to generate an HD smart collection using the current fields. Th...

Disable spotlight integration for v5?

Hello, Thanks as always for the pedias. I have been moved over to v5 now and have found that I am unable disable the spotlight integration. It is a lovely feature, but I find that it clutters up my spotlight search results and in general I prefer not to have it enabled. Can you please re-enable the ...

DVDpedia "Show in Finder" option for links

Hello, I have a small but growing number of media files stored on a NAS and recently had to do some data re-organization and found myself reflexively looking for the iTunes "Show in Finder" command (or Shift+Cmd+R) when managing some DVDpedia links. I imagine it would be possible to implem...

Re: Feature request: deep hyperlink support in the interface

Cool! Thanks Conor, I implemented the linking in an info view template and like it. As you mentioned, it's a little unclear the best way to let a user know that they are now navigating within a search. I'll think on this as well for a bit and post back if I have any insights on how I would expect th...
