For $39.99 you can get a USB bar code scanning wand at geeks.com. It requires no drivers. The Mac thinks it's a keyboard when you plug it in. And, in fact, that's exactly how it behaves. Command-F to bring up the "New Item" dialogue, point the scanner at the bar code and pull the trigger. ...

I'd LOVE Vinylpedia (or LP as an item in CDpedia)! I've got more vinyl items than CDs, DVDs and books combined (unless you toss in LaserDiscs, then you're getting pretty close). The problem for me is that most of my vinyl does not have bar codes, so database creation becomes a very manual task that ...

I have to disagree with Patherto's dismissal of LDDB due to lack of info on stars, director, etc. It's been suggested that searching for the DVD or VHS release information for a given LD title would be adequate, and, again I disagree.
