Re: Doghouse contribute fail
Thank you all for your help. I never did figure this one out but it turns out that my contributions are largely gone from doghouse anyway. I posted about it, asking if anyone knew why and no one answered. I guess that's that. If there's bio reason to contribute, there's no problem after all!

Submitted info missing...
I've been submitting CDs to Doghouse since the mid-four digits. Recently, I've been going through my CDpedia entries and adding the track times. I've been resubmitting the CDs so the additional info is included. Even more recently, I did a search to see how the submitted entries appear. It seems the...

Re: The "Sort Title" field in DVDpedia doesn't ignore articl
My understanding is that the "sort" fields override the behaviour of the primary fields they're attached to. It allows you to sort *exactly* in the way you pleased, and to do that it makes no assumptions...such as ignoring articles.

Changing where CDpedia looks for the Music database
Does anyone recall how to tell CDpedia that the Music Library.musiclibrary location has changed? In the iTunes days, it was holding the ALT key while selecting "Refresh iTunes Tracks" in the view menu but that no longer works. I cleared the Music Library.musiclibrary file out of the folder...

Re: Doghouse contribute fail
Thank you for the suggestions! I'm a long-time Onyx user already. The hidden maintenance options in the help menu are interesting. Made no difference though. So I recreated one of the entries after deleting the original first. *Still* no dice! I wonder if it's a weird character sequence or something...

Re: Doghouse contribute fail
Well, it's not a communication issue because I can submit other entries just fine. if I enter a new one and choose both the new one and one of these trouble CDs, only the new one gets a dog tag. So far I have four of these trouble CDs out of nearly 4000 entries, so it's hardly a big issue, but it's ...

Re: Pedia cover recommended quality ? (scan)
I wonder why that is. The DPI setting on an image displayed on screen really has no effect.FineWine wrote:The pedia's have been coded for the jpeg format at 72 DPI and it will automatically convert to that.

Doghouse contribute fail
I've got a few CD entries that do not get a Dog Tag when I try to submit them. In fact, the submission is so fast that I believe the submission is not taking place at all. So far, this has happened three times in nearly 4K CDs. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Any ideas how I might get it wo...

Re: CDPedia and Catalina
I'm not having any luck with the link to the library file in 6.0.2 and I suspect it has to do with the location of that file. How can I specify that location for CDpedia?

Re: Pedia cover recommended quality ? (scan)
For CDs, I use a simple 800x800 pixels. The DPI setting makes no difference. I also use JPEG because it's good enough and saves a bit of space.

Wonderful! Thank you so much...Conor wrote:There is a new Apple approved API for communicating with iTunes. The beta will be ready in a day or two, wrapping up the final touches on the new API, so that those running Catalina can go through the API instead of the XML file.

Re: CDPedia and Catalina
The only bug so far is the iTunes linking and sync, also a few users who deny file access and then the Pedias can't load the cover images (will have to do a little support write up for how to grant access post fact). I'm wondering what is up with the XML files that iTunes generates. I had an issue ...

Re: CDPedia smart collections not working
Time was right. Timezone was right. I downloaded the beta, and the bubbles indicating the number of entries in each list showed zero (for the smartlists, anyway). I was disappointed, but when I clicked on each, the contents showed up as it should, and the bubbles updated correctly. But just FYI, now...

CDPedia smart collections not working
It seems that smart collections in CDPedia 5.3.1 aren't working, at least for me. This is under Yosemite if that matters. I went so far as to recreate one to see if it matter, and it doesn't. For example, I've got one called "last365" and the logic behind it is: [Date added][in the last (d...
