Hello Nora,
I got an even larger hard drive for my movies!
Updating links to the new drive using your instructions from 7 years ago didn't work this time.
Has the syntax changed that I need to use in Terminal?
Thanks for any help.

DVDpedia with macOS Sierra 10.12
I recently upgraded my new iMac to Sierra. Everything still works as expected in my large DVDpedia library except for one thing. Switching records takes longer than before. Previously I could hop around my library by typing a letter in the thumbnail view to go to the first title beginning with that ...

DVDpedia Grid View Enhancement
I think it would be an improvement if the currently selected movie in the grid were highlighted in an additional way. Currently a 3(?) pixel rule is drawn around the icon in the grid while the enlarged version is displayed on the left hand side of the interface. I have a lot of movies and I like to ...

I'm glad my input was helpful!
The new beta corrects the problem for me so I'm a happy camper.
Thanks Conor!

Re: Sorry if wrong forum.
No worries Conner - I removed DVDpedia prefs and relaunched the program. As you might expect, “factory” default settings for the program were used. I switched to grid view and quit. When I restarted the grid view was maintained, hurrah! Then I said to myself, “self, why don’t you carefully reset you...

Re: Pixel Perfect Covers in DVDpedia
Hi. I took another whack at it. This time I removed the left & right brackets around the word [integer] and replaced it with 1.0 like this: defaults write com.bruji.dvdpedia "JPEGCompression" -float [integer] I revised to... defaults write com.bruji.dvdpedia "JPEGCompression"...

Pixel Perfect Covers in DVDpedia
On November 13, 2008, jenv asked “Why do the Pedias convert images?” and Coner explained the space savings rationale for the behavior. I happen to agree with jenv who responded “Why recompress at all? You lose quality every time you do a decompress/recompress cycle…” In “Tips & Tricks” for worki...

Tried the Beta
OK, I launched the Beta, switched to grid view (w/Cmd+2) and then quit and relaunched DVDpedia several times and each time it went back to list view ... the resulting Console lines are shown below: 12/22/15 9:13:05.263 PM lsd[245]: LaunchServices: Could not store lsd-identifiers file at /private/var...

Re: Sorry if wrong forum.
Hi Nora ... I launched DVDpedia a couple of times and each time the following two lines appeared at the end of Console: 12/22/15 9:02:25.011 PM lsd[245]: LaunchServices: Could not store lsd-identifiers file at /private/var/db/lsd/com.apple.lsdschemes.plist 12/22/15 9:02:30.494 PM Finder[472]: CFProp...

Sorry if wrong forum.
This may not be a support issue, but a new feature/request in DVDpedia? I would prefer that my movie collection opens up in Grid view rather than List view when I launch DVDpedia. It appears that the program does not remember that setting and always reverts to List view on launch? I know I could jus...

Re: Updating a Large Number of Links
Thank you so much Nora for the quick and thorough reply. I did add the phrase "Volumes/" to the syntax you provided to get it to work for me. So I structured it like this >>> sqlite3 ~/Library/Application\ Support/DVDpedia/Database.dvdpd update ZLINK Set ZURL = replace(ZURL, 'file:///Volum...

Updating a Large Number of Links
I recently bought a new, larger external drive and want to change all the links in DVDPedia that are pointing to movies on the old drive to point to the exact same movies on the new drive. Let's say I have 1,000 movies neatly and beautifully catalogued residing on Drive1 ... I then copy the entire l...
