Switched to iMac 21.5" 2011 - iSight problem

Hi,

the subject line says it all. I switched from an MBP 17" to a new iMac and am not able to scan barcodes since. From what I can see I think the picture is distorted (height stretched), overexposed and unfocused.

Any help is welcome, I am using Bookpedia 4.6.7. and OSX Lion.

Thank you for the report on the new iMac. We are working on updating it for the new MacBook and hopefully it will be the same camera. Will let you know when we have a beta available.

Well, I installed the update to 4.6.8.

On the positive side: no distortion anymore, exposure seems ok, too.
On the negative side: still unfocused, still no barcode scanning.

I can't help being a bit disappointed.

Should work with the new beta. Could you please email us some screen captures while holding up two or three different barcodes, so that we might compare them.

thanks - but where do I find the beta? I downloaded from http://www.bruji.com/bookpedia/beta.zip - but that seems to be a 4.6.7 beta and does look the same to me as does my 4.6.8.

I'll try to email some screenshots.

I am having the same problem with my new iMac, but I started having it before I moved all my files from the MacBook Pro I have been using for years. On the macbook I was running Snow Leopard and when I moved to the iMac 21.5 I got Lion. I am running 4.6.8. Get fuzzy images and am never able to get even a flick of green in the focus box. I've even tried books I had already scanned in before just to see if it was able to read those barcodes. It couldn't.

Any news? I find I haven't added any books for a few months now and this is getting a problem. Yeah I know, I *could* enter the ISBN - but frankly, this was not what I was looking for.

If it doesn't work, so be it, I have to look for another solution. But some more info sure would be nice...
