Newbie Question

Post by Chopper »

Hello,

I am new to the program, and have a simple question/problem.

Upon first launch, I added my movies on my Mac simply by dragging the physical files from my folder to the Library icon under collections. This added all my movies without art, and info... which I added to each manually later.

I added about 70 movies this way.

But today, when I went to add more... I can't drag and drop at all.

What am I doing wrong?

Adding files directly to the Library collection is not possible. You have to add a movie first and then a file can be linked to the movie by drag and drop on the info view at the bottom for that movie.

Wow... maybe I am confusing it with yFlicks then.

Drag and drop isn't available? This should be added in future versions, no?

Any update on a drag & drop feature in order to get a movie file into DVDpedia with it's info?

There is a basic version in the beta at the moment. It understand the iTunes metadata but is unable to pull any information from other files as there is no standard for storing that information. So with .avi files for example you can drag and drop a whole bunch and it will create simple movie entries with links, that you can then if needed fix the title (copied from the file name) and use get more info command. All entries created this way are put into an excluded collection, you drag and drop them to your library to include them if you are satisfied with the import.
