Bookpedia: compare prices
I would appreciate a smart collection rule to compare the different prices associated with one book, as this would allow me to quickly identify curiosities or make selling decisions: Price is greater than Paid Lowest Used Price is greater than Paid Asking Price is less than Lowest New Price etc.

Re: Bookpedia - Book Conditions
The tags field? Humans invented language, not tags, to be specific, like this: First Edition 1982 (stated) Random hardback. Near fine blue cloth cover, excellent dustjacket, some edgewear and chipping, tight binding, bright pages, no markings, slight tarnishing on edges, no remainder. The subject fi...

Re: Bookpedia: What is 'Page Mark'?
I still prefer the 'Notes' field for this purpose, because it accepts several lines, and does not have Autofill enabled on it. I usually enter text like this:
pages 4, 16, 23, 123
or like this:
4: description
16: description
23: description
123: description
pages 4, 16, 23, 123
or like this:
4: description
16: description
23: description
123: description

Bookpedia: What is 'Page Mark'?
What is the field 'Page Mark' intended for? What information should it contain - the page I have bookmarked?

Re: About localizations
Good reply. I understand. As for the locale information, I probed a bit into my entries, but questions remain: 1. If the search site, from which Bookpedia retrieves data to create an entry, is not one of the Amazon sites, does Bookpedia disable (grey out) the Amazon links (under the Advanced menu) f...

About localizations
I'm using the standard (US English) version of Bookpedia and I'm wondering how much the application with the German localization differs: Does a localization involve more than a translation of words that are part of the application's graphical user interface? Are there additional or less functions? ...

Re: Globally modify locations of linked files?
Ok, I see. Well, here my thoughts on why keeping links up-to-date could be useful: I consider using Bookpedia to keep metadata about paper documents, that is, to use Bookpedia as a database for filing information. An entry in Bookpedia tells me where a book or a document is, and what the library num...

Re: Globally modify locations of linked files?
Does this mean that the link path will adapt to a file's location, when it is moved? Right now, in Bookpedia, links become obsolete after a file is moved to a new location in the Finder.Conor wrote:but we have it on the feature request list.

Re: Search by barcode?
When you search for 0-471-02892-4, which is the ISBN, Bookpedia return the correct book, but enters the barcode into the ISBN field: 9780471028925. Why does Bookpedia enter the barcode into the ISBN field?
