Renaming a genre in filled section
Renaming a genre in filled section
By mistake I created a genre which has a space in front, as I can search in the movies to change it? If I do a search by genre and writte as I have it, it finds me I have it all and I don`t know where I wrote it.
Re: Renaming a genre in filled section
Go into the Preferences/Autofill (under the program menu) and select the 'Genre' field from the drop down menu. Then you can edit the autofill list for the Genre field.
Re: Renaming a genre in filled section
Yes, the problem is that I delete the genre that I don´t want, but it is still bad in the movies database because if I push rebuild still appears.
Re: Renaming a genre in filled section
The 'Rebuild' button will take whatever data you currently have in the database and rebuild your autofill data from that. So this is not the button you want if the error still exists in one or more of your entries. (If it's more than one entry that has the faulty information, select all the affected entries, press 'Edit' and change the information in the multiple edit window for all entries at once. ) You have to fix the problem in the field first before you use the 'Rebuild' button.
Re: Renaming a genre in filled section
Yes, I know, but imagine that the problem is in the genre field as the information in the database is with a space before
Example " Drama" (whith space before) instead "Drama"
It is impossible to find because it gives me a great deal. Is there any way to define a little better the search?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Renaming a genre in filled section
Are you sure that this is your problem? I have tried to create a genre with a space before the word and DVDpedia ignores the space. How did you create the genre with the space in it? Are you sure it is a space and not an 'invisible' character?carpanta wrote:Yes, I know, but imagine that the problem is in the genre field as the information in the database is with a space before

Re: Renaming a genre in filled section
I do not create it, put only the script taking data from filmaffinity.
Lately I've spent enough, the script can be a problem.
Thanks in advance

Ah right - I can see your problem now. Unfortunately I have no idea what the solution is! Sorry.carpanta wrote:I do not create it, put only the script taking data from filmaffinity.

Re: Renaming a genre in filled section
That's good. Care to share the solution with us? How did you refine the search to disover the records with the space in them?carpanta wrote:Thanks, I have solve it, If I refine the search give me the correct result.

Re: Renaming a genre in filled section
I have updated the Film Affinity plug-in DVDpedia beta 16 to remove the space in front of the secondary genres listed for a movie.
