Hi,
I would like to make a couple of upgrade suggestions for DVDPedia. Presently there is the main library (the one with the books icon on the left). I don't populate the main library and would like the ability to hide or delete this. Also, I would like the ability to manually sort the collections rather then have the collections automatically sorted by name. Adding a preference option for these would be great. Great program by the way. Thanks.

How do you mean "you don't populate the main library"? Every DVD added goes into that Library automatically - if you delete a DVD from the Library it is removed from your collection. If you deleted the Library you would have zero items in your DVDpedia!
The collections aren't only sortable by name - you can click on any of the field headings and sort by various dates, media, director, sound, aspect ratio, anything you like really. Do you mean a full manual sort - ie you can drag any title to any random position in the table?
Kind regards
Keith

I am not talking about individual titles I am talking about the collections that hold the titles. I want to manually decide what order the collections appear on the left side of the main screen. For instance, if I had created the following collections: kids, adult (not as in porn) and anime. Version 4.5.5 would automatically place adult first followed by anime followed by kids. I may want to have the collections shown in the following order: kids first followed by anime followed by adult. Can't do that with version 4.5.5 as it automatically sorts collection names in alphabetical order. The way I get around this, presently, is place a leading space in the collection name. This is important to me because I use the DVDpedia front row plug-in.
All my titles, in collections, are excluded from my main library collection. This leaves my main library collection empty and I would like to hide the main library because in front-row when I selection the main library there are no titles in it. Having a preference option to hide the main library collection is what I was requesting.
Re: DVDPedia upgade suggestion
Ah right - with you now. Yes, it would be a useful feature. I have numerous smart collections and I too would sometimes like to order them in a non-alphabetical way too because sometimes fairly obscure collections come at the top of the list and the most used ones are randomly displayed in the middle of the list. I second your request for a custom-orderable list of collections and smart collections.Winestock wrote:Keith,kbarnes70 wrote:Hi Michael,Winestock wrote:Hi,

Yes, I understand you now - thanks for explaining it again. I'm sure that if it's possible to make the changes you are asking for Conor will do his best to accommodate you. One of the very best things about the Pedias is the way the developers listen to us users and incorporate our wishes.Michael wrote:All my titles, in collections, are excluded from my main library collection. Re: DVDPedia upgade suggestion
I guess that an immediate work-around would be to rename your collections:
1- Kids
2- Anime
3- Adult
etc
